Shoreline Zushi, Kanagawa
New fish! Fishing from the breakwater need Denny's in Zushi I caught this new fish. Using a casting rid with sandworms this fish hit hard and put up a pretty good fight! At first glance I thought it was a silver Surf Perch(Umi tanago) but when landing him this fish made a fast run near shore -so he didn't fight like the much tamer Perch often does. Something new!
After pulling him out of the water I could see his distinctive silvery, stream-lined body and two outwardly pointing side fins. It was the first time I'd seen one of these Silverbellies. They don't often come into bay areas and prefer faster currents . I was lucky to catch him and record him in the blog.
